Princess Leia's Buns: The Great Hair Debate
posted @1:06 p.m. by Richard Kelly
The print version of Ten Bad Dates is proud to present two beautiful lists of extremely ugly hair-dos: Paul Dale on the topic of bad wigs, and Andrew O'Hagan on stars who allowed their real hair to be wholly refashioned into something hideous. Prominent on Andrew's list is the pair of "Danishes strapped to the side of Carrie Fisher's head" in Star Wars. Now an online poll by the DVD rental site Lovefilm has decided that Leia's is the most iconic movie hairdo of all. Right, that's why you still see so many imitations of it on the street... a timeless classic, for sure...

I did toy with the idea of a 'Young Einstein' at one point. Boy am I glad I didn't go through with it...
Brad Pitt's lofty quiff in 'Johnny Suede' (US 1991, dir. Tom DiCillo) could have been a contender. Maybe it just involved too much pomade?
